Adam has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant urology conditions as well as adding to the existing service for urological cancer.  He has pioneered robotic surgery in Reading, both clinically, performing over 200 radical prostatectomies and also by leading the ‘Robbie the Robot Appeal’. This appeal which raises fund to support the Da Vinci robot has recently passed the £1M mark. Adam also works on the European Robotic Urology Symposium helping to train robotic surgeons of the future.

In recognition of his clinical and fundraising robotic work Adam was awarded the Pride of Reading – Healthcare Worker of the Year 2012 Award.

In conjunction with Paul Rogers (oncologist) and Peter Malone, Adam has helped to build up the prostate brachytherapy service in Reading to be one of the busiest ‘real time’ centres in Europe with over 500 patients treated. Adam says; “Working in a unit with expertise in both brachytherapy and robotic surgery is uncommon in the UK and means our patients really do get a genuine choice of treatments for their prostate problems."
