Pay-As-You-Go
Some patients can not be offered a fixed price quote, usually because of existing medical conditions. The hospital will then provide a Pay-As-You-Go Estimate for the treatment being considered.
The estimate usually covers
- the consultant’s and anaesthetist’s fees for the procedure(s)
- medical and nursing care
- operating fees, drugs, dressings
- hospital accommodation
It does not cover
- outpatient tests
- any consultations before or after the operation
- personal expenses
The patient pays the hospital prior to the operation taking place. After the operation, the hospital will refund any money left over, or invoice for any outstanding charges.
