May 4, 2006 Bostwick Laboratories, Inc. announces the immediate availability of PCA3PlusTM, a urine-based genetic test for prostate cancer risk, exclusively from Bostwick Laboratories, Inc.
PCA3PlusTM detects PCA3, a specific gene that is highly expressed in prostate cancer. No other human tissues express PCA3.
PCA3PlusTM tests for prostate cancer cells that are shed into the urine. The urine sample is tested for genetic expression of the PCA3 gene. PCA3PlusTM, validated by Bostwick Laboratories, Inc., predicts prostate cancer with a sensitivity of 91%.
